Questions

  • We are located in the Arroyo Verde Shopping Center at 1850 Rancho Del Oro Rd. #170, Oceanside 92056. We are located by the Habit Restaurant.

  • Pilates is truly for everyone!!! However there are many different styles & not all styles or studios are the right fit for everyone.

Private sessions, Mat Pilates, gentle Reformer, or small classes may be the right fit if you have injuries, are new to Pilates, need extra help or if you want to move at a slower, gentler pace. Many smaller studios will have all the Pilates apparatus for you to use such as the chair, cadillac, & spine corrector, just to name a few.

If you are looking for a flowing, athletic challenging group Pilates Reformer class experience then you have come to the right place, because this is what we do best at SRP! Our classes are larger, set to upbeat music & designed to challenge you! We frequently stand on the reformer for lunges and standing work & you will see planks in almost every class! Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns, we would love to help find the right Pilates studio for you, even if it’s not our studio.

  • We teach challenging, flowing group reformer classes. Our classes are considered contemporary Pilates, while being rooted in the founding principals of Pilates. Our classes are more athletic in nature, but are suitable for different levels. Our instructors always give options for modifications & advancements. However, please note that our group classes are designed under the assumption that our students are healthy with minimal injuries or limitations.

If you have injuries, are pregnant/postpartum or have recently undergone surgery please contact the studio prior to taking your first class so we can evaluate if group classes are the best option for you at this time.

The safety of our students is of upmost importance to us & we are more than happy to discuss any issues or questions you might have prior to signing up for a class.

  • The original reformer was created by Joseph Pilates in 1946. Although it has changed a little bit since then, it still remains one of the main pieces of equipment used in the Pilates Method today.

The reformer consists of a metal or wood frame, with springs used to increase or decrease resistance. A footbar sits on the end of the machine. A padded platform or “carriage” sits on the inner frame tracks & is equipped with wheels so that it can glide forward & backward easily. Long straps equipped with hand & foot loops are attached to the opposite end of the machine.

Reformer exercises use spring resistance to elongate muscles & strengthen the entire body, challenging balance & increasing the range of motion in the joints.

  • In studio we use the Balanced Body Allegro 2 Reformers. These reformers stay true to the original design but with a sleek modern twist.

  • #1 Don’t Worry! You are going to LOVE this! Keep an open mind and positive attitude, have fun & know that everyone was a beginner at some point.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class so your instructor can meet you & show you the machine & answer any questions you might have. If you arrive late for your first class we unfortunately will not be able to admit you. This is for your safety & for preserving the flow of the class already In progress.

Please bring grip socks, they are required to take class. We sell them in the studio if you wish to purchase them.

    Please wear comfy athletic/gym apparel

If you have questions please don’t hesitate to contact us! We would love to hear from you!

  • Our athletic group reformer class format is designed in a way so that we can teach to a variety of different levels & bodies. Instructors will cue modifications and progressions “layers” for each exercise so that you can chose what works best for your body. Our classes are athletic in nature, as you will be flowing around the reformer from one exercise to the next quickly.

If you have injuries, are pre/postnatal or have recently undergone surgery please contact the studio prior to taking your first class so we can evaluate if large athletic group classes are the best option for you at this time. We are more than happy to discuss any issues or questions you might have prior to signing up for class.

  • This is due to a variety of different reasons. First we are able to give you amazing reformer classes all day long! If we had many different class types you may see the class you want at 8 am & then not offered again until 5 pm. This way you get an amazing reformer class any time you want!

The reason we don’t do beginner, advanced, level 1, level 2 classes is because it’s very hard to determine who falls into what category. Many times if your schedule doesn’t allow you to come to a beginner class time, then you will either just not come or sign up for an advanced class.

With one class type the teachers are able to give many advancements & modifications so you choose the type of class experience you want for yourself based on the options presented to you by your teacher.

  • If you have been taking classes at Studio Reform Pilates PRIOR to becoming pregnant you can continue to do so as long as you feel comfortable and have been cleared by your doctor.

Please let your instructor know so that we can put a note on your account and so your instructor knows to provide modifications for you throughout your class.

It is out of an abundance of caution that we do not allow new clients who are pregnant to take classes at our studio. If you are pregnant and have never taken a class at Studio Reform Pilates prior to becoming pregnant, we ask that you wait to take your first class until you are no longer pregnant.

Doctors advise that you do not begin a new workout while pregnant and the health & safety of you & your baby is the most important thing.

  • We are a busy group based reformer studio! Because of our limited availability in the studio we do not offer ongoing privates. However, sessions may be scheduled on a one time basis dependent on instructor & studio availability. The goal of these sessions would be to prepare a new client to enter into the group classes or to provide modifications for a pregnant client to successfully & safely keep taking classes at the studio. If you are inquiring about privates please contact Amy

  • If a class is full you have the option to place yourself on the waitlist. Please note if you place yourself on a waitlist it is your responsibility to see if you made it into class. Please ensure you are set up to receive text &/or email notifications in your app.

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

The system will automatically place you from the waitlist into the class if a spot becomes available 12 hrs. prior to the scheduled class start time. You will be responsible for the class even if you are unaware. Please remove yourself from the waitlist if you know you can no longer attend the class. If someone cancels less than 12 hrs prior to the scheduled class start you will not automatically be placed in the class. If you see an opening please remove yourself from the waitlist & book into class.

For example: a class starts at 8 am on Tuesday. If you are on the waitlist & another student cancels at 6 pm Monday night you will automatically be placed into the class from the waitlist (person cancelled 12 hrs prior to the start of the class). However, using the same example, if the person cancelled at 5 am on Tues morning, you would NOT be placed into the class & remain on the waitlist, but you would see 1 open spot in the class. This is because the person late cancelled less than 12 hrs prior to the class start & will lose their class due to late cancellation. That’s why it’s important to check the schedule for availability last minute because cancellations always occur.

  • Canceling less than 12 hours prior to your scheduled class start time is considered a ‘Late Cancel’. If you Late Cancel, or if you 'No Show' your class will be deducted from your package or membership. Please be respectful of others who might be on the waitlist & cancel early if you are unable to attend.

We do charge an additional fee only for the 30 classes/month autopay membership. The fee for late cancel is $10 & No show is $20

  • We allow minors 16 years & older to attend classes only when a parent is taking the class with them. If you are bringing your child please ensure that they have no significant injuries. This is for the safety of your child as well as for preserving the flow of the class. With 14 people in class it is hard for the instructor to give individual attention. If you have questions about bringing your child to class or would like to set up a private session first please contact the studio & we will be happy to assist you.

  • Easiest way is to download the STUDIO REFORM PILATES app from the app store.

  • We honor a 5 min grace period at our studio. Meaning we will admit you up to 5 min past the scheduled start time of class. We understand things come up, but unfortunately we will not admit you to class if you are more than 5 minutes late. This is for a variety of reasons. It is a huge distraction to the flow of the class in progress and the teacher will be well into the routine. Your safety is very important to us & arriving after the class is in process just isn’t safe for you or fair to the rest of the class. We reserve the right to give your spot away to a standby student if you are more than 5 minutes late.

  • We always recommend pre-booking to reserve your reformer. However, you are always welcome to show up at the studio & try to get into class. Please have an account created prior to coming in. Please note that we only have 14 reformers so classes fill very quickly! We do admit standby students if there are late cancellations

  • We love kids! We totally understand the childcare struggle is REAL! However we cannot allow children to sit in our lobby. It causes a distraction as we have an open lobby to the studio & it poses a safety concern as we have no desk staff while classes are in session & no supervision. With so many members & clients it would be impossible for us to determine who can & can’t bring their children. Please reach out if you have any concerns. Thank you!
